About Us
Our Story
ThisAndThatShoppeUS was founded in 2019. It all started with the ‘Canine Syringe Holder,’ an idea from my father that I was able to bring to life. Our dog at the time, Lucy, was a diabetic Beagle that required a double dose of insulin daily. Since she required a double daily dose, it would get confusing if she received both doses. Giving too much insulin is obviously a huge problem that no one wants to experience. My father was also a part of a Facebook group that was specifically dedicated to diabetic dogs. It became clear to him that owners getting confused with the number of doses their dog receives was a legitimate issue. This sparked an idea in my father’s mind. He drew up a rough sketch of a holder labeled with ‘AM’ and ‘PM,’ along with the abbreviations of each weekday. I took the idea and ran with it. I designed and cleaned up the sketch and within a couple of days, we had a physical syringe holder. My father then posted the syringe holder on the Facebook page and it completely blew up. Several people were asking where they can purchase one and that I should sell them on a public platform. With that, ThisAndThatShoppeUS was born.
It is safe to say that Lucy was the reason for this company, which is why the product is listed as ‘Canine.’ We unfortunately had to put her down in January of 2022. I wanted her legacy to carry on with every Syringe Holder that was sold, which is why I designed a heart with the letter ‘L’ on the original design. This design is the design that is on every syringe holder sold.

Lucy
Lucy was one of my childhood dogs growing up. She was a Beagle mix that we adopted from our local SPCA in 2009. Lucy was like my best friend growing up. We had a very special bond we would play together, walk together and she would sleep with me every night. Lucy was definitely one tough puppy. During her life, she had lymes disease, diabetes, was blind in both eyes and was almost fully deaf. Despite all the obstacles thrown at her, she was always happy to greet you and was just a joyful dog overall. Unfortunately, we had to put her down in January of 2022. Ever since it’s been hard not having her around, but my family have been getting by day by day. Every time I sell a syringe holder, it makes me happy knowing that Lucy’s legacy is carrying on in the homes all over the world.
Shiloh
Shiloh was my other childhood dog I had growing up. Shiloh was a Sheltie/Husky mix that we adopted from the same SPCA as Lucy back in 2011. Shiloh was also my best friend growing up. Like Lucy, we had a very special bond. We would play together in the backyard, play in the snow, go for car rides, and like Lucy, Shiloh would also sleep with me. Shiloh was also one tough puppy. Later in her life she had some weight issues, walking problems, and eventually heart failure. Shiloh was also such a positive dog. She would always come and greet me at the door, lay down and wait for me outside of any room, waiting for belly scratches. Unfortunately, we had to put Shiloh down July 4th, 2022. It was very hard watching Shiloh take a turn for the worst at such a fast rate. Her passing is something that my family is still struggling with, but we manage to get through it day by day.
